The overall aim of a powerflush is to restore the full circulation of water around the central heating system. Entire system has to be flushed in order to get the best results.
How do you know if a system needs a powerflush?
If you notice any of these symptoms:
- Certain rooms are much colder than others
- It takes a long time for a system to warm up
- One or more radiators are cold at the bottom
- Radiators need frequent bleeding
- Noisy boiler
Your heating system require powerflush to be performed.
The Compliance Guide to Part L of the UK Building Regulations for England and Wales requires a central heating system to be cleaned and flushed before a corrosion and scale inhibitor chemical is added during commissioning. It is also necessary to perform powerflush when replacing old boiler by a new one. Please notice that many manufacturers make the warranty dependend on flushing and cleaning.
